I have to preach tomorrow morning at my home church, Shiloh Baptist Church, and I'm reflecting on how my sermon preparation looks different in this season of my life.
What looks like gardening was actually 3 hours of listening, getting grounded, uprooting, clearing, slowing down, tilling, praying & observing. Tending well and deeply to the soil of my own soul helps to position me to be used of God to pour into the souls of others.
Three hours later, what was uncultivated and overgrown before is ready for new life after. May this be so tomorrow in collective worship as well.
