Last month, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach at Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee as part of the Land, Food and Faith Formation Doctor of Ministry Track.

My class was entitled, "The Integration of Land, Food & Faith Formation in Ministry."

The nickname for my class was the Fabulous Five. Each of them brought a wealth of experience and insights that supported the learning environment that we co-created together. I'm excited to see them continue to soar in their respective fields.

I'm grateful as well for local community leaders who helped to teach us about what food and environmental justice work looks like in their city. Special thank yous to Brittney Shelby Sessoms, Bertrand Williams, Jr. and Pastor Earle Fisher from Abyssinian Baptist Church. (The Blackest church in Memphis and Shelby County!)

I'm looking forward to continuing to work behind the leadership of those organizing for food and environmental justice in Memphis.

I'm also excited about more opportunities to connect with brilliant students at institutions of higher learning around the country. The classroom can be a powerful pathway for helping to create a great harvest of more people who will find (or refine) their place in food justice ecosystems!
