Black History Month 2023 was certainly one to remember! I took a few breaks from working on my book in order to stop and smell some roses.

I was blessed to receive the Humanitarian Award from The Howard L. Cornish Metropolitan Baltimore Alumni Chapter of Morgan State University. This month, I was honored to receive the Community Service Award from The Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and then finally The Ella Jo Baker Human Rights Award from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference.

It feels incredible to be "seen" by my community, but it's even more wonderful to share about the work of The Black Church Food Security Network and help people to see ways that they can link with this powerful, national movement for food justice!

Here are just a few ways that you can get involved:

  1. Donate money to support the work of The Black Church Food Security Network

  2. Think about ways that your fraternity, sorority or civic organization can connect with us

  3. Sign your church up to become a member

  4. Become an unofficial ambassador! Spread the word about our organization and work.
