Recently, I had my first trip ever to Utah. I was invited to present at the Do Good. Better Conference hosted by the BYU Ballard Center for Social Impact. While there, I was presented with their Social Innovator of the Year Award and $10,000 in support of the work of The Black Church Food Security Network!
I met with brilliant students, dedicated staff and even enjoyed a private meeting with the venerable Dean Lawrence Carter from Morehouse College who was there speaking at another event at the school. In addition to the fascinating conference, I was amazed by the breath-taking scenery. Snow-capped mountains everywhere! This was my first experience in Utah and at Brigham Young University, but it will not be my last! Things are brewing. Stay tuned!
